Clean hotel, friendly staff & best sleep quality in Havana!

By: Sarah, United Kingdom Posted: 2017-05-19

I stay at Capri for 4 nights during a business trip and I would recommend this hotel for who travels to Cuba on business but also on holiday. In my experience, this hotel offer the best sleep quality in Havana! My room on the 16th floor was really spacious, although the bathroom was a little small. It was cleaned and tidied up daily and the maid would always leave a small chocolate treat.

Staff here is very friendly and really makes an effort to make you feel at home.

On the 17th floor there is a bar with pool tables open until late, a small but well functioning gym (with a great view!) and a SPA, which unfortunately was not working. For breakfast, on the first day I tried the buffet on the ground floor, which was quite busy and crowed, but still with a nice friendly service. There is quite a wide choice, including Continental and English breakfast, but I have not been impressed.. On the other days, I took my breakfast on the top restaurant, La Florentina, which is much more quiet and intimate – you get access to it if you book an executive room or higher categories. The food is the same as at the restaurant downstairs and in both places air-conditioning is too high and coffee is not really good for Cuban standards. La Florentina offers evening dinners and the menu looks really inviting, unfortunately I didn't get a chance to eat there, but I would have loved trying.

The best part of this hotel is the roof top terrace (18th floor) with a nice swimming pool, shame though that it only opens at 9.00 am, so I could not go for a quick swim before my meetings. There is also a bar, really enjoyable in the evening.

If you are planning to stay at this hotel, I would recommend to get a room at least on the 10th floor or higher, as these have a much better view, either on the city and the Focsa building or on the Malecon and the Nacional. Also, if you are staying here for business, book a room on the executive floor as they have internet access.
